Knowing Yourself as a Learner

GRIT

To me, GRIT is working, persevering, and not giving up on your goals. Not procrastinating, taking the time to study and really learn, are ways I'm taking to improve my GRIT. My GRIT partner is my co-worker. As a coach, I am always looking to improve and get better, and my fellow coaches, who have much more experience than I, are people who motivate me to get and do better.

VARK Learning Style

I am very much a kinesthetic and aural learner. Being able to fully and truly understand what I'm doing or need to do through hearing it and trying it is something that I do throughout most of my days. As a soccer coach, being able to properly explain and demonstrate the drills and ideas is very important, not just for my players but for me. I gain a better understanding of what my role is and what I need to do.

Myers-Briggs Personality Type

My Myers-Briggs personality type is: ISFJ. I am someone who listens carefully and does a lot of deep self-reflection, which allows me to assess where I am at, what I need to do or know, and what steps need to be taken, so when it comes to studying, this personality helps a lot.
